Okay, so I'm not posting this anonymously, but I am a Top Chef addict. I didn't think I had a problem until I had a dream about being on the show last night. I was on a team with Dale and we won, somehow without me lifting a finger (I definitely don't cook in my waking life...or in my dreaming life, apparently).

Is there anyone out there who's with me on this one? Maybe not with the dreaming stuff, but at least with a love for Top Chef?

I'm with you, TJ! I'm so glad Stephanie won, she definitely desrved it, but I'd much rather have seen Antonia in the final three than Lisa. She slid through most of the competition by the skin on her teeth, but she did finally shine on the finale, I give her that. She definitely didn't take constructive (or any other) criticism well, her body language was always the crossed arm stance at elimination, that turned me off.

To be honest, I thought Richard was going to take it all but I think he just went too avant-garde for the judges. That and the meltdown he had at Judges Table. Once he pointed out his shortcomings, I think he pretty much knocked himself out of the competition. But I did think his liquid nitrogen thing was cool! I just might look up his restaurant and expand my palate, he's here in Atlanta.

I love Project Runway as well, we'll have to start a thread for that. I do hope Christian's apperance is sopradic, if I hear his catch phrase, 'fierce!' one more time, I'll scream! I wonder who'll be the next Santino, I did love his designs and he kept things interesting!

Yay Stephanie!! First woman ever to win Top Chef, not to mention there were two women in the final three. Girl Power!
I was never fan of Lisa, but it did seem like they were going to give it to her. Stephanie completely deserved the win. Especially after she came out on top after Dale left her pork belly out to rot all night. The dish she made up on the spot was everyone's favorite. Throughout the competition she was calm under pressure and delivered the best food. I'm sad it's over, but Project Runway starts in July. Does anyone else love that show?

Stephanie wins!! What do you guys think?

Up until last night, I couldn't figure out why Lisa was still in the running. She had maybe won one elimination challenge, had ticked a bunch of the other contestants off, but somehow had made it to the final three. I thought it was really interesting how Chef Tom justified her being there by praising her attitude and tenacity...most people complained about it all season, so her attitude was never cast as a positive quality in a chef.

So once I had that realization about her, I found myself really rooting for her. And she put together a great menu that was very "her"! I kinda wish she had won...

Hey, that's really cool! She was sent home way too early, IMO.

I finally watched the steak house episode (my favorite challenge ever) but had to relinquish TV rights and couldn't get the first Puerto Rico episode in.

Correction to my previous post: Richard is his name, not David.

It was a beautiful weekend in San Francisco, and I spent much of it sitting in the park reading...and guess who was sitting right behind me in the sun yesterday? Jennifer from Top Chef! I nearly had a heart attack I was so excited. But I totally chickened out and didn't talk to her.
