Another startling admission by MagnetMom: I was a TV-Film major in college, so I'm a sucker for great lines from movies. My absolute favorite comes from Gladiator where Maximus says "What we do in life...echoes in eternity."

Without getting too corny, I truly live by that line.

Another line we joke about a lot in our house is Yoda's "Do, or do not. There is no try" from Empire Strikes Back (which the kids are watching and repeating line by line tonight). My son is amazing at turning everything into Yoda Speak.
So are there any great movie quotes you like, live by, or just like to laugh at?

My 5th grader SON and I are both Star Warriors ( I am
also a Trekkie but...) and we know all the popular lines
and sayings of almost all the characters...so when I see
Albert needs a little wait period...I would say " you must
LEARN Patient...Young Luke..." it is quite effective just because it resonates with their deepest emotional
chords ( for 11 years old this is the deepest hahaha)

Or "I AM YOUR FATHER..." often works when done in
Veda voice...hahaha

anyway I have an idea of COMBINING popular movie
and VIDEO GAMES with SCHOOL LEARNING by inserting
REAL SCIENCES and PHILOSOPHIES or ETHICS into
their BRAND NAME popular games like STAR WARS
JEDI ACADEMY or World War 2 CALL OF DUTY or even
Lord of Rings or other popular games so that maybe...

JUST MAYBE...one day the TEACHER will give a special
edition copy of JEDI ACADEMY to her class to PLAY as
HOMEWORK for ASTRONOMY or SPACE SCIENCE class !

Imagine the FRUSTRATION we parent will be SAVED from experiencing when asking our children to go do
HOMEWORK rather than playing their games ......

IT WOULD BE THE SAME THING !!!

PLAY GAME AND DO HOME WORK AT THE SAME TIME !

I think this is the FUTURE of INNOVATIVE EDUCATION
PAR EXCELLENTE ... !!!

USA was running the Indiana Jones trilogy in anticipation of the fourth movie coming out this summer. Aside the fact that from virtually every scene that Sean Connery is in is my "favorite," from the first one comes this line:

Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.

I love this movie, and all of its quotes. It's a great feel-good movie.
