My husband has always been military since I met him, but we have never had to move because of the military.  Actually, my children have never moved.  Now that they are 9 and 6 (twins) we are making our first military move.  We have lived thru deployments and him being gone alone, and not knowing what was going to happen the next day, and "us" being at home feeling like a single parent home.

So this should seem simple, he is moving first, and then the family will follow.  But how do we deal with finding a new school and finding a new home.  We will be over fifty miles from the closest base.

How do I prepare my children for this.  We have known for some time that this MIGHT happen, but now that order are in, we only have two weeks before he leaves.  The children and I will stay to finish the last month of school, but what can we do to make this easier on them.  I am currently looking for schools, but have never been in a public school, and the charter schools all have such long wait lists.

Any advice is welcomed.
