An interesting article in the Daily News says that the LA City Council has recommended that LAUSD consider adopting uniforms for all its schools.  I say it's interesting because the LA City Council has no jurisdiction over LAUSD.

While some families appreciate the simplicity of uniforms, I can't understand why the LA City Council would get involved.  Don't they have their own budget to balance?  What's next, the DWP dictating dietary restrictions?

Re: LA City Council Recommends Uniforms to LAUSD
Interesting, that the Council would recommend uniforms; don't they have other things to worry about? Maybe many of their children attend a LAUSD school, and they thought they'd make the suggestion.

Anyway, discussions about uniforms in public schools has always been a hot topic, and I suspect will always be. But, I do like your idea of the DWP sticking their noses in about school food.
