This might be more appropriate to post in the Learning and Attention Difficulties group, but since this does pertain to multiples, I thought I'd start here.

I have triplets who were born at 32 weeks.  One has been diagnosed with ADHD and we are getting ready to see the doctor on #2 because of trouble focusing in school.  Has anyone identified a correlation between prematurity and ADHD?  Both kids are more of the inattentive type, and to be honest we don't really see the inattentiveness in #2 at home, but her teachers report it.

Would you try and get the diagnosis in order to get the additional accomodations in school?

Re: Multiples, preemies, and ADHD
I don't have a study at my fingertips, but it seems logical. Other disruptions in the developmental process, like maternal alcohol & drug use or malnutrition, bring a higher risk or ADHD as well as LDs and other health problems. I think there's also a correlation with low birth weight in general??

I'm sure data could easily be found but I've got to leave in a few minutes.
