Re: Awesome article in Newsweek on LDs
For the millions of parents with a child like Allegra, the most important thing I can tell you is this: neither status nor wealth matters as much as your support. The simple fact is that you--the parent--are the most powerful advocate your child will ever have.

I loved that quote from the story. A must read for all parents of children with LD.

Re: Awesome article in Newsweek on LDs
I have bookmarked the story, so if I get down all I have to do is reread it. Now I wish my mother was alive to ask her what it was like in 1960, when she fought for me to entered into a regular school. I was called a mental defect even by professionals of the day. My mother proved them all wrong, and now I am in the same position as my Mother was in 1960.

Thank you for the link. What a ray of sunshine and hope for those days when as parents we wonder kind of future our severely LD kids may have.

Re: Awesome article in Newsweek on LDs
This is a great article as usual dhfl!!

It helped me to feel that all my hard work as my dd advocate is what will mean the difference between success and failure!! We have to keep reminding ourselves that especially when we are faced with our daily challenges!!

Thanks again!
