TinyUrl is a web-based resource to permanently link a short URL to the longer, easily broken URLs so common in government sites, newspapers, and so on.

Are you sick of posting URLs in emails only to have it break when sent causing the recipient to have to cut and paste it back together? Then you've come to the right place. By entering in a URL in the text field below, we will create a tiny URL that will not break in email postings and never expires.

Here's how:

 1. Copy the loooooong URL, just as you would to paste it here (or anywhere).
 2. Go to tinyurl.com/
 3. Paste the long URL in the box on the page
 4. Click the Make TinyURL button
 5. Copy the resulting TinyURL
 6. Paste into the document, post, or whatever you need a TinyURL for.

That's it! I have TinyURL on my toolbar, or you could just have it in your bookmarks.

Feel free to propagate this HowTo anywhere you are bothered by long links that break.
