I was searching for something else and came across this site, very nice!!! Anyway if you live in Ohio and you have a child with ADD, ADHD or Asperger's there is a state wide school you just have to know about!!! Our son is extremely ADD and ADHD and for the last two years we have fought the public school system, and our son was struggling with his classes, behavior as well as interpersonal relationships. By chance we found a school, Summit Academy here in town. Summit is a state wide system of schools that specialize in ADD, ADHD as well as Asperger's learning needs. www.summitacademies.com/ We enrolled our son for the start of the 2007-2008 school year and the results have been wonderful and amazing!!! Summit has schools in many ares so far, and they are growing by leaps and bounds!!! The school is state funded, and also privately funded by individuals and companies, ours included. In the past year, second grade, our son has gone from being a half year behind in reading, and a year behind in math, and by the end of the third quarter he had finished third grade math and reading!!! His behavior has improved greatly, and the school has done more for this than did the Aterol, did I spell that correctly?lol We just cant rave any more about this school with out writing a book, but if you have any questions ask away, I wish this place had been around when i was in school.

Summit here in Cinci is K-12, it is a free school, aka charter, and we love it soooooo much we are embarking on a fundraiser to expand the school so more have the oppertunity to attend, you have no Idea of our passion for Summit and what it has ment to us!!! Just as in a public school, but the classes are 15 students to two teachers, and the class structure is geared to students with ADHD and Aspburgers. They are allowed to grow as fast as they can, ie they are not held back. Our son is in third grade, and is working on fourth grade reading and math this year!!! What a far cry from what we had to deal with in public school who said that he needed to be held back... If anyone would like to contact me personally via phone about Summit Acadmy please feel free. How do you like this school? How many grades do they offer at this school? Is it free or do you have to pay tuition? Is it just like going to a public school?

Hi Keith,

I just learned about Summit Academy. Do you mind me asking which location your child attends? I am considering visiting the school, but I am concerned about safety at the school closest to my home. We are also in Ohio.

Thank you! Darlene
