Hello Everyone!

Over on the Schwab Board we were known as Mr. and Mrs. Speakerwir(e).

We had quite a few things going on, involving our three daughters. They all have ADHD, and anxiety. The oldest has Dyslexia, and the youngest has Speech Articulation/Delay.

We had quite a few battles with the school and the district. We had State Complaints and we had OCR complaints. We finally realized that in our case, even though we kept "winning" our complaints, our kids were losing.

We enrolled our kids in K-12, a public online school, in late November. Our kids are no longer having nightmares or having panic attacks. They look forward to their school sessions, and enjoy learning. We are able to tailor their school day around them.

This really is working well for our kids, and we want to thank asearchers, and everyone else who recommended "cyber school".

Sincerely,

Julie and John

Wonderful news! Glad you found what worked well for your family. We had similar realization -- even though we won and on other fronts were in the right and could potentially win -- fighting this battle would be a loss for our child. -- the battle proved to be too costly. I am so happy to hear that you are pleased with "cyber school". It is always nice to learn about other options available. Thanks for the good experience about one more potential resouce.

congrats! I have a question~~

With your dyslexic how are you teaching her?? I have a 11 yr dyslexic and you never know where our future will take us. Do you use specific instruction for her with the LD's? Any remediation??

Thank you for sharing in your success...school should be a place for children to learn, in a safe environment. Parents of LD kids know only too well, that LD+learning doesn't always = safe...so happy for your girls, and for you...

As others have said, congrats to finding a solution that best fits your childrens needs!!

It is always nice hearing that these things do work out, we just have to keep trying until we find something that works.

Best wishes and here is to hoping that everything continues on an upward path for all of you.
