Arne Duncan, Secretary of Education has announced a simplified FAFSA form for 2010 and beyond.

From using information the IRS already has, to eliminating questions that do not apply to specific applicants, the goal is to capture the possible 1.5 million eligible students who don't apply.

The entire story can be found on the Washington Post.

I, for one, will look forward to going from 30 screens online down to 10. :)

Re: FAFSA Overhaul Announced
It's a good step, but what would really help is if the folks from the IRS simplified the tax code, and their forms, first!
