USA Today: Freshmen Flock to New Orleans

Here's a USA Today article on the spike in enrollment to pre-Katrina numbers for the universities in New Orleans.

When they discuss the appeal of helping to rebuild a city, I can relate, as that was one of the main reasons my son applied, and the reasoning appealed to me too as my university was nearly destroyed in the Northridge Earthquake of 1994.
Ultimately, my son opted for a school closer to home, but it's nice to realize we weren't alone in our thinking.
