Not trying to cause controversy or upset anyone, just a real issue IMO.

How does your family deal with the lack of diversity in the urban school environment? (this could apply conversely to the rural environment, but Dayton isn't rural so I will not address that aspect)

Is the lack of diversity, be it racial, cultural or economic, a factor in your schooling choice? If so, how?

Re: Diversity within the urban system
So, how do YOU cope?

What factors do you look for in a school? What choice do you make if you live in a district that is not diverse?

How important is diversity and what lengths will you go to make it a party of your child's educational experience?

What, in your opinion, are the potential pitfalls of your child attending a school that lacks diversity? Does it make a difference if your child is part of the minority? The majority?

Yes, all three of the factors mentioned come into play when choosing the right school for my children.

I think that I am looking for racial and socioeconomic diversity so my daughter has a diversity of peer experiences. You can use our online info to help determine this or do school visists, but I would assume its hard to find around here. Dayton is pretty segregated.
