Re: options for high school students who are very disruptive at school
Any thoughts about options for struggling HS students where the public school system has failed them and pushed through the cracks with one year left to go but probably will not graduate?

Re: options for high school students who are very disruptive at school
Sometimes with disruptive youth in school, a full assessment would be a good place to start. I have a teen that had her behavior blamed for lack of learning. I didn't agree, so I had an auditory processing eval done, a language eval done and also a very thorough dyslexia eval done. Guess What? She has severe to profound dyslexia and it shows in the auditory processing eval with severe impairments and language skills as well. I had the school do a complete IEP to suit her needs, academically as well as classroom accommodation's. Everything is much better. Her behavior was a result of total lack of comprehension in the classroom. These evaluations took 2 years to complete everything, but it was worth it. My teen is doing so much better. If school districts and parents work together, sometimes it works out much better. Good Luck
