My daughter is gifted and entering 3rd grade next year. I'm looking for an engaging Nintendo DS game to keep multiplication and division skills fresh over the summer break. She is a visual learner.

Re: Keeping math skills fresh over the summer through games
My daughter is gifted and entering into the 3rd grade also. We bought her the game Learn Math for her DS, it covers grades 1-4. She loves it! I was never a fan of the hand held games or game consoles in general until she asked for one the Christmas before she turned 6. We told her no at first but after taking some time and checking in to it I realized how many good educational games they have. She also has several that require a lot of reading. When she says she's bored I hand her, her DS and I know she is entertained and learning at the same time.

It's not Nintendo, but Sponsored by the Mensa Foundation, www.MensaForKids.org provides a place for our Young Mensans and other smart children ages 6-10 to play and learn. The site includes educational and challenging games; resources for kids, parents and teachers, including lesson plans and study tips; and a thought-provoking Feature of the Month written by a Mensan for the younger audience.
