Does anyone out there know of any charter, private or magnet schools in the Denver area that are good?

The best private schools are The Logan School for Creative Learning and Ricks at the University of Denver. South of Denver there is Mackintosh Academy which caters more to twice exceptional children. Don't bother with the Jefferson County Gifted and Talented. Our kids transfered here when there privated Gifted School closed. Jeffco G and T is only accelerated a grade, there is nothing else gifted about it. We are currently applying for Ricks and Logan. Hope this helps

Manning Middle School is an Option school but it is the toughest middle school in Colorado. It is full of gifted and talented kids. It also requires a lot of homework to "prepare" for high school and college courses. Three to five hours study per night is very common. Good luck and look it up on Great Schools.com

I know that the Gifted Development Center is located in the Denver area. I wonder if you were to contact them, could they tell you about good schools in the local area? You can find a contact # through www.visualspatial.org
