Greetings group,

I am new to this site (as of today in search of care for my child) and wanted to get insight from those well versed in the city around us. I have had my son in what is his second daycare. Although I like them very much, I have noticed turn-over in staff that hasn't been fully relayed to parents in letters or verbally unless I ask; and two, they don't seem organized and that worries me. I do love their location and the fact that I can access his class online to see how he's doing but I am not sure that is enough. Am I too pushy and just need to "be easy" or can there be a much better alternative? I am not a parent (although my first time round) to sit and just let things happen. I like to be proactive and help where needed, or question when required. Help!!

Re: Changing Daycares...Again!
Well, a couple things stand out to me. First, it's strange to me that you would be worried to raise your concerns with the director because your son might be mistreated. That's a huge warning sign right there. That being said, if you don't feel comfortable talking to the director then it might not be the right place for your family. If you do want to stick it out there, talk to the director about your concerns. I'm sure he/she would rather address them than lost your business.

Let us know how it goes!

Re: Changing Daycares...Again!
I did ask questions but not to the Director...I asked the teacher in my son's class and she didn't have a clue on anything which what caused alarm in my mind. I have wanted to several times, ask the Director if they needed help in the office such as the letters that should go out to parents when you have staff changes but I don't want to over step my bounds - does that make sense? Usually I don't have a problem saying what I feel but I am hesistant especially since they have my son 8hrs out of the day, LOL.

Does your son enjoy his time at this daycare? Have you approached the staff/director with your concerns? What was their response?

You have to feel comfortable with the situation or it's not going to work.
