I will send my son to preschool in September.  He will be exactly 3 1/2.  Should I send him 2, 3, 5 days? Has anyone ever heard of Culver City Christian School? I like it, but they really only offer five days.  Is that too much? The cost works out ok, but I want him to be happy.  Any other recommendations?? THanks! --Kate

Re: Preschool in Culver City
My grandaughter started a daycare that taught early childhood when she was 18 months, then at age 3 she started a 5 day a week preschool, she is very bright and learns quickly, she will be in pre-k this year (age 4), the only thing i am afraid of is that she may get bored because she has already learned most of the things taught in pre-k, but i am hoping that since we have moved to another district and she will be going to a new school that it will all work out okay.

Re: Preschool in Culver City
Ever thought about Mother's Day Out? I've worked in a preschool, and a Mother's Day Out program. If you find a good Mother's Day Out program, it is usually 2 days a week. Ours take 6 months to 5 years old. We teach ABC's, songs, colors, numbers, and how to get along with each other and the babies - which we separate when there are too many older children. If you are unsure about Pre-school, then this would be a good alternative until you choose to do a 5 day week in a pre-school. Hope this helps!

I teach Pre-k and before you make any decisions you would need to ask yourself some questions about your child. Has he ever been in a program before? How long is the day at the school you are thinking about? Does your son get along well with other children? Does he separate from you well?
Maybe if the day at school is 2 hours or so then 5 days might be a good choice. A longer day for a three year old is tough. You are his first and most important teacher.

Hi Mar Vista Mama! I've seen your question, but I'm over the hill--geographically--and my kids are a bit older. I've sent out the calvary on this one and I'm hoping to get a response soon. Hang in there!
