Has your child had a really great teacher who made you want to show your appreciation? How did you choose to show it? For all the current or former teachers in our community- what is the best present you ever received from a student or parent?

I believe this is a great way of expressing your appreciation.

I would like to piggy back on your response, by adding, parents coordinate an Appreciation banquet in the school's cafeteria and the students present teachers with their gifts.

give gift cards: Bath & Body Works, a Dinner for (2)two, movie tickets or a relaxing day at the spa my daughter through the years always gave a live plant to her teacher and the schools here in Texas have Teacher Appreciation week which is always exciting and fun to see the looks on the teachers faces it's such a small show gratitude for all their hard work they deserve so much more i'm sure there are many more great ideas out there to show our appreciation so keep em comin'

Wow. That's so elaborate, but nice. Do a lot of parents participate?

Our school pretty much puts the entire week on a list and asks parents to participate in the following way:

Monday: we bring letters and pictures to thank the teacher.

Tuesday: there's a teacher appreciation luncheon. PTA buys most of the luncheon and parents bring dessert.

Wednesday: children bring the teachers flowers.

Thursday: parents bring classroom supplies to the teacher.

Friday: the PTA buys popscicles for the entire staff and faculty.
