Hello All,
My son is entering the 11th grade and he will need to retake both the Reading and Math FCAT exams in October.

Florida is a big state, and we don't know where "in your area" is. Have you asked his high school counselor for suggestions? Your son is certainly not the first, nor only student who might benefit from tutoring.
Is your son currently in special education classes? I'm not from FL, but if he's eligible for accommodations in other tests, I believe he should be allowed to use them on the state testing.
I'm also wondering if you've tried any of the"chain" tutoring places like Huntington or Kumon, who sometimes also offer tutoring in state testing...

Yes, I have asked the counselor at the school which of course was no help. I understand my son is not the first to benefit tutoring, but I’m not the mother of the other students who might need the help. My role as the parent of the child in question is to find the extra help for him not other students in need. No, he's not in Special Ed courses he just needs an extra boost to help him pass the exam.

Oyea,the state of fl.has a lot of places that will tutor your child and take your money but they are not 100%.all I can tell you be careful.if you have a home computer let your child go to www.fcatexplorer.com and pratice.your child english teacher knows how to hook you up to the fcat pratice test.I wasted a lot of money and my child never passed the fcat.then her english teacher sent me a letter so she could pratice three or two times a week.my child is doing much better passing the test.and it is FREE.
