My husband maybe accepting a job in the Tampa area of Florida and I am looking for a high school for my son with the following points to bear in mind:

1. Must have a ROTC program

2. High academics

3.In a secure area (meaning low crime neighborhood)

4.No tollerance policy on bullying etc

If any parents also know which areas of neighborhoods to avoid to live in but suggestions on where is good to live, we welcome any comments on that too. We wish to buy rather than rent but would consider renting if we did not find the right house in the catchment area of a chosen school. We are looking for suburb rather than town/city living but do not want to be to rural. Would consider between 300-550k house prices but no houses on lakes, although slightly inland from beach acceptable?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Newsome High School in Fishhawk Ranch. Has all 4 of your requirements and with the housing market as it is in the area, you should have no problem finding a home to purchase in that range. You will definitely be inland from the beach. They are buidling around that area to make it more suburban than rural, but you do have 2 lane roads in that area right now. But it is very family friendly.
