I am new to town and my son will be attending 7th grade at Charlton Middle School in the fall.  I am having trouble finding out what the school offers for after school activities, if any.

Thanks, Chris

Hi Joe,

Quite a few of us use the "Recent Activity" button in the toolbar to follow nearly every discussion with recent posts.

You can find it here: community.greatschools.net/activity/

Re: Extracurricular Activities
Great Advice!
I agree that a trip to the school can be very helpful - not only to find out what the school offers, but to get a feel for the building itself.

Many schools will allow new students to "walk through" their schedule and practice with their locker before school begins. Your son will feel much more confident if he is familiar with the layout of the school and feels he can get from class to class on time without getting lost.

Good luck with the move!

Re: Extracurricular Activities
Two ideas:
1. Does the school have a web site? If so, look under activities or curriculum
2. Call the front office and request a parent handbook. Better yet, take a trip to the school, assuming it's open and ask for a list of extracurricular activities, clubs and electives. Remember to introduce yourself and express your overwhelming enthusiasm in becoming part of the school's community. First impressions are incredible for parents and front office staff alike.

Best,
