As my son is finishing his senior year, and focusing on his graduation, along comes a letter in the mail from his junior high inviting him to a middle school "reunion."

I giggled when I saw it, because it's such a simple and cute idea.  They're asking for a $5 food donation, and the kids are coming back for a dance on the middle school campus one afternoon/evening.

For parents of 8th graders, ask if anyone has even thought of this idea, because I think it's great that the kids will get to go back and see each other (some have gone on to far-flung areas the Valley), but more importantly, they can go back and see their teachers from all over.  The biggest trick is getting the list of graduating 8th graders and then getting ahold of as many as you can and hope they can help you track down the rest.

I'll report back in mid-June on how it went from his perspective.  I know sometimes junior high is that age where it's somewhat hard to love them (but you can't really disown them....), so to go back and see them all grown up is somewhat exciting.
