Hello everyone. Iwould like to get some opinions on a 4th grade field trip that is scheduled to go to the Wilkes-Barre Airport in May. Due to the recent potential outbreak of the Swine Flu, I think this trip may be a little unnecessary and not such a great idea due to the conditions. I personally think that such a field trip is a wonderful experience, however without trying to sound paranoid, is it really worth it?

I apologize if I made it seem like I was taking it out on you, I'm just so aggravated at this. While I went to the pharmacy before, the technicians behind the counter were handing out face masks. My children were crying because they were worried...I do not show them how I am bothered by this, I've been mostly ranting on here to take out my aggressions w/ this...again, sorry if you thought I was pointing this at you, and thank you so much for your help and advice...it is greatly appreciated..

Momand3angels, I think you missed my previous comment in which I said I completely understood your concerns and suggested finding other parents who feel the way you do about this field trip. There's power in numbers. If enough parents express concern the school will have to listen.
I do not think you should get a blood test just because you are returning from a trip, however, you may want to talk to you physician about that, I am not a doctor. As well as the second part of your question, I did not quite understand what you were saying. There are always viruses going around, that is imminent. This AH121 virus is a strong combination of fever, vomiting and bronchial trouble. Great to hear about the test.
Q: if someone is returning from mexico, and do not have any symtoms should get a blood test or dr revition before going to school or work?? at my kids school are people vomiting/dhiarrea and fever! there is also a virus of this going on?? besides the worry of what's going on I AM HAPPY- my daugher got Level 6 in her FCAT test!!!very proud and happy MOM:
