Re: Finding a good school for kids with Auditory Processing disorder?
My 6 year old is a repeat kindergartener. I intend to get an IEP, fingers crossed cause they are giving me a hard time, get a McKay Scholarship and transfer him to a participating private McKay school. My major concern is class ratio to teacher. I'm targeting a small class size so teacher can spend more 1:1 with each. My major concern has been reducing his anxiety and frustration for now - which, I think, inevitably will translate into academic success. Class size is important. Be careful though, private schools, as I understand, may not have to support the IEP, but I don't think they need to simply because class size doesn't require things like an FM system. Feel free to email me.
