Fun and Educational event for ADHD children!
My daughter and I have just discovered a GREAT way to improve her education (math, reading, writing, geography), all while having fun!
We've begun Geocaching. (See geocaching.com).
I created an account online for her where she has to read to navigate, and then she "logs in" her finds (which requires spelling).
Geocaching is treasure hunting, and you would be amazed at the amount of treasures around your house!
I help Hannah enter the coordinates (as well as solve the puzzles for the more complicated ones) and then the GPS helps you get there.
Hannah has to read her coordinates, follow the arrows, then she has to look for the hidden cache.
This has really helped Hannah build her self esteem AND as a lot of kids struggle in math with those problem solving questions - this has helped that as well.
Its great exercise, the kids get to collect
I highly recommend this to parents with ADHD/ADD children.
