we are moving to the Rockwall Area and would like some advice on schools? Right now we have them in christian school which we love but what i am paying for two here in Dayton,OH that is what I will be paying for one.So Rockwall is a little more on the pricy side.My question is are the public schools any good or should I keep them in the same curriculum that they are use to being taught? And what about the High School? I know there are two are they both good?I have two children in elem.and one in high school and one going into college. Also are there any good cummunity colleges near by?Well let me know I would love some southern advice.

                                                                                                      Thanks

Re: I would like your advice?(Rockwall,TX)
I am an elementary school counselor in Rockwall ISD. I also have 4 of my own children. Three have graduated from Rockwall High School and one is a junior.
After 20 years in the military we settled in Rockwall in 2001 and have absolutely loved every minute. I think all the schools do a good job, but with 11 elementary schools you will have to choose what fits your family the best. The people are friendly, the teachers and administrators are professional. The churches are welcoming. It is east of the big city of Dallas, but still maintains a warm, smaller town feeling. High education level and lots of outdoor activities with our lake.
I wish your family the best. You can contact me anytime at cconger@rockwallisd.org for any questions. (In Texas ISD stands for Independent School District)

have you begun your move to Texas yet? I feel very bad that Ihaven't gotten back to you yet. My sil and friend "promised" to email info on their schools but atlas they have not. I do know they both like the schools they are in. My friend has a 1st grader, 6th and 7th grader with some learning disabilities and health issues and she has had a great realationship with her school. My sil has a 3rd, 8th and 11th grader (at the new high school) and she loves her schools. They live off of hwy 105 and are zoned to the schools along their. I'm going to bug them again and get the names of their shools for you. Sorry again, and I hope it will still be helpful. Connie

I have some family and a friend that live in Rockwall. If you have some more specific questions I could ask them and get back with you. I don't know exactly what area you are moving to in Rockwall so .... that's why I said I would need more specific questions. I'll see if I can get some general answers for you though. pm if you like.
