anyone considering homeschooling their child/children, should first research your state's homeschool laws and hours requirements.  each state may be different on how many required hours for each core subject(english, math, science, social studies) and non core subjects (PE, art, music, home ec, foreign language, etc....).  make note of all required record keeping that is mandatory for your state.

i also recommend looking for a homeschool group that meets in your area.  in our state we have homeschool co-op's(groups of homeschool families) that  meet and form classes to give the children opportunities to take classes with other homeschool kids.  our group also plans field trips and other outtings for social activities for the kids.

the internet is a great source of information to find information on homeschooling.  try searching:  homeschool cirriculum, homeschool conferences, homeschool co-ops...........etc.

homeschool conferences are a great source of information of how to get started, different cirriculum samples, etc.

some cirriculum companies to research on the internet could include:

saxon, abeka, sonlight, ACE, math u see, CLASS (Christian Liberty Academy), Midwest Christian Academy,

alpha omega, Bob Jones, horizon, rosetta stone, rod & staff, christian liberty press, horizons, .....

hope this gets you started!!!!!!  good luck!!!!
