Moving in -during, the third semester our family was caught with assisting child with homework and ofcourse she left her text at school. As a suggestion could the school provide syllabus from each core curriculum (including textbook information). So this parent can aide in the learning!

Re: Your Child and School Text Book.
My boy has text books and work books that go along with the text books however he only brings home the workbooks, on occasions he will bring home a dictionary, or math book but other then that he uses his workbooks. I really never payed attention to the actual text part of the home work just the pages that needed to be done. Does that make me a bad parent? HUM!! you got me thinking!!

Re: Your Child and School Text Book.
Text books are given out and signed by the student and parent that it will come back in the same condition. While attending school in Michigan we had to put a small dep. on our text books. My parents said that seems fair, If you didn't return the book/books you had to pay for them. Taught us to respect property. I did, so did my friends. However for those that wrote filth on them and tore pages out were not respectful. This was a small town and the budget wasn't there to buy new books every year. Don't get me wrong, our books were updated.

Re: Your Child and School Text Book.
Fortunately, my son was able to bring an extra copy of his textbooks home so he doesn't have to lug them around everyday in his backpack. He can study at home to be ready for upcoming tests and do his homework.
