Its 8 minutes long, but has some great suggestions for parents.

Thanks! An excellent video. My son's teacher was kind of shocked with his reading skills. My daughter's pre-school teacher was thinking I home schooled her for years. The magic formula for my children is reading/games and it works.

Read everything and every where is the key.

Would you like to post this on pre-school and elementary groups. I think this will answer some of the members' questions and helps some parents.

Had this type of interventions been available when my daughter was in pre-school -- perhaps she would not have experienced the same difficultites learning to read and later have had to be identified with dyslexia. This type of instruction actually "wires" the brain to be ready and able to learn to read.

I love get ready to read! In addition, parents of emerging readers may enjoy www.readingrockets.org. It's full of great tips, too.

I finally had 8 minutes to spare and I'm so glad that I watched this. The listening games are a wonderful suggestion. Thank you for posting this!
