I have five children, so keeping in touch with teachers on a weekly or even daily basis was a real challenge. The teachers were more than happy to give me their email address. I can ask a quick question, get a weekly progress reportor go over any problem areas my child is having in school in a flash! And I can read emails from the teacher or write an email when I have a few minutes here and there without an appointment. A great solution, give it a try!
I used to communicate with my sons teacher in his previous school (KG and 1st grade) via emails and both the teachers were prompt in replying. We moved to a new school and after writing 3 emails to the teacher, I finally wrote her a note on paper to check if she is able access her emails. Still no response via email, but she delivered a verbal message thro' my son saying "All the emails are down". I don't know what that means...I am a busy parent, I work from home and have another 18 month old to take care. Email is the only way I can communicate with the teacher and its so easy and convenient, but this teacher does not reply... What should I do? Should I contact the Prinicipal... ..
Any pointers, greatly appreciated....
Thanks
At our school we communicate with teachers very regularly via E-mail. In fact, I get in touch with the Principal via E-mail also if I have questions, and she finds time to E-mail back the same day. We are now getting E-mails from all parents in the school ...sort of forming a roster for each class for quick communication. All event reminders are also sent via E-mail to all parents (who have signed up).
I would never have thought that this would be ok- glad to know for the future!
