I have two kids, aged 9 and 11.  Summer time is a good time for them to relax after a busy school year, and also a good time for them to learn something new and interesting.

Since my parents are visiting us during the summer, both kids are learning Chinese at home from Grandma, while Grandma learning English from them.  So far they have learned more than 100 words, and also get more interested on many Chinese cultures that they are not so familiar with.

We have also borrowed many interesting books from the local library,  so they have a leisure to enjoy good reading on their own pace.  My son likes challenges on his math skill, so he is self studying some advanced materials to see how far he can go by self learning.  My daughter enjoys drawing and making craft works.  She and Grandma are busy working on their creations.

Going to the swimming pool and roller skiing are their favorite activities, and Mom and Dad are also very enjoying the family outings in the pool and at the play grounds.

Hope everyone is enjoying your summer too.
