There are so many ways to continue education in the summer...
One thing that you can do is plan an educational vacation...maybe using a theme
for example spend time in Gettysburg Pennyslvania and use the many resources to
learn about the Civil War, there will be many "hands on" opportunities, incorporate fun
things to do such as a ghost walk, take notes, discuss topics together, make an assignment
and give a "souvenier prize" as a reward for correct answers.
I took my daughter on an educational vacation to Cherokee North Carolina, we studied
native american culture, and at the same time went white water rafting, saw "Unto these Hills"
outdoor drama that was an excellent history lesson on the trail of tears.
get alot of educational information on geography, went fishing and brought home a ton of first hand
knowledge and information.
Another way we continue education during the summer is with nature walks, scavenger hunts
and reading marathons on rainy days
