To keep my three sons learning over the summer, we take family field trips.  When we return, we print pictures for the boys and they write in the summer journal about their experiences.  Our trips include museums, parks, zoos and other places of interest.  They are asked to recall as much of their day as possible and write it all down, this is important to keep them writing and they really enjoy it.

We also do puzzle books together, logic puzzles and sudoku.  These books keep their minds sharp and it is alot of fun to work on them together.

We also read books together as a family, like Harry Potter or Narnia.  This gives us each a chance to relax and it keeps the boys interested because they help pick the books.

Our family is off to a great summer and none of our children has complained about being bored.

Have a great summer,

The Whaley's
