Thanks to the US Dept. of Education, states, districts, & schools are required to report performance, accountability, and improvement plans. I have provided some examples of this data on Louisiana & Florida, you can look your states facts up (most of this info for most states can be found online).

How is your state, district, and school doing? You can change things simply by voicing your disatisfaction, and suggest ways to improve it, along with informing others in your community.

You can also use this data (especially if your child is in special ed) if  the school they are attending has low scores for students with disabilities compared to other schools in the district to get the district to do an "out of district" placement to another school within the district.
