Getting involved is going to meetings, join the PTA, volunteer, be the eyes and ears of your school. Oh, I more thing very IMPORTANT, STAFF WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. MAKE SURE IT'S NOT THE SAME PARENTS YEAR AFTER YEAR. ALSO DON'T WANT TO HEAR I WORK, SO DO I, MY CHILDREN HAVE SPORTS AFTER SCHOOL, SO DID MINE, A MEETING CAN BE HELD SO ALL CAN BE THERE. IF NOT THEN DON'T TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE IF YOU DIDN'T VOTE ON IT.
I totally agree. Can you recommend any specific ways that parents can get involved? I know there are a lot of folks here who want to participate more in their school and classroom, but don't know how to get started and actually take that step. The first step is always the hardest!
I completely agree. The more hands on deck the better. I truly believe everyone has something to contribute. Although it often comes down to contributing financially or time, both are equally important to get the best education possible for our children.
